International Vision Quest (IVQ) is a
non-profit humanitarian organization with two distinct global missions:
Provide treatment and prevention for blinding eye conditions in underserved areas worldwide.
Develop and support entities to provide medical care, food, shelter, clothing and education to needy children throughout the world.
World Blindness
Several international agencies estimate that over fifty million people worldwide are currently blind, including 2 million children. Eighty percent of the world's blindness is avoidable, treatable, or preventable. Despite tireless efforts by many existing agencies blindness is steadily increasing worldwide. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that at the current rate, the number of blind people in the world will double in the next twenty years. Astonishingly, 10 adults and 1 child go blind every minute in our world. IVQ seeks to have a measurable impact on reducing world blindness.
